Conner 8 Months

Conner's 8th month was full of new discoveries but the best was the day he discovered the mirror on his spinner/saucer toy. I was working on the computer one afternoon and had him playing in the room with me. I wasn't really paying attention to him but then I realized he was laughing and then would spin himself around (also a new discovery) and then lean over like he was trying to eat the toy in front of him and laugh again. I stopped typing and watched then realized what he had found: himself! Right in front of him was a toy and then below that toy there is a mirror and he has grown tall enough to lean over and see that mirror. He knows what he looks like as he likes to preen in the bathroom mirror any chance he gets and it seemed like Christmas when he "found" himself in the mirror on his toy.

Sleeping!
Aunt Becca bought Conner a stuffed animal when she came to meet him way back in August/September. When she was here she spoiled both boys, buying them each a Disney character stuffed animal: Wy got a Mickey Mouse and Conner got Pluto. When Conner sleeps he has to have a blanket over his face (really, scared me to death the first night I walked into his room and saw the blanket up over his face) or very close to it. He also likes to cuddle up with his stuffed animals. One morning I put him down for his first nap and gave him Rowlfrowlf, his dog, and Pluto. It was this morning that he chose to sleep an extra hour which was unusual for him so I tiptoed into his room just to check and I found him sound asleep with Pluto's tail firmly grasped in his little hand, the tip of the tail just barely touching his eyebrow. I thought it was so adorable and that Aunt Becca would want a picture so I ran to get my camera, took the picture and he slept through the entire thing. He was one tired little guy!

Rock-n-roll! That's the way Conner has decided he likes to get around. If he's in the living room he rolls and rolls until he finds himself by his toy basket and then with one half roll (not quite all the way over) he can knock it over and finds himself swimming in a pile of toys which he absolutely loves. If he's in our room he will roll around in circles until he can roll out the door and then I find him either in the bathroom playing with the shower curtain or banging the cupboard door in the hall way open/shut, open/shut. He is a mover and a shaker and loves to explore different places!

One night I was doing dishes, Wyatt and his two cousins, Karlie and Ashlyn, were making cookies and Conner was in the living room. All of a sudden we heard a thud and there was Conner hitting the wall between the kitchen and the living room. He decided he wanted to help too and had rolled on over to join in the fun. This isn't where he actually ended up though; he did one more giant roll and ended up under Ashlyn's chair, attempted to sit up, bonked his head and spent five minutes yelling at the four of us. What a kid!

Besides movin' and a-groovin', Conner has added a third tooth to his two bottom teeth, helps feed himself by grabbing the spoon and guiding it into his mouth, refuses to hold his own bottle which the little turkey did for the first time when he was three months old, plays patty cake and claps his hands to "If you're happy and you know it", loves to splish and splash in his rubber ducky bath tub and talks a lot! He is growing so much and so fast that I feel like I can't keep up with it all. I want to capture his every moment but realize that I might miss a few things. The important thing is that I try!

My girls rolled everywhere also. They hated being on their bellies, so they never got a good start for crawling, so they just rolled, only ended up truely crawling for a month or so before walking.
