And off we went to the circus!

The circus came to town the first weekend of February and we decided to take a break from all the cleaning and unpacking and take the boys to see the most wonderful show on earth. We went a little early so that we could acquire good seating and had plenty of time for Wyatt to ride an elephant and the little ponies. I have a fond memory of riding an elephant when I was about Wy's age now and I really wanted him to have that opportunity. He did okay until they had to unload all the kids they loaded after Wy and they left him on the elephant by himself for a minute or two. You could see the panic setting in and I figured that would be the end of that short-lived ride. However he was a trooper and waited while they reloaded the kids and then white-knuckled it around the ring as the oh-so-enthusiastic elephant handler texted on his phone. Did I mention that while billed as the greatest show I think it was equivalent to a really bad off, off, off, off Broadway show. Wyatt had fun and even Conner woke up long enough to take a look around. I do believe Wy did like the ride but he has taken to walking around saying "I don't want to ride the elephant."

Pictures top to bottom:

1. Wy checking out the elephant ride while we pay for an outrageously priced ticket
2. Brad and Wy waiting in line for the ride. He actually spotted the tigers from this vantage point and I think was more excited about them than the impending ride on the elephant.
3 & 4. The infamous ride. Please note that the elephant looks older than dirt and about to fall over. During the show I thought that one was just going to sag to the ground and not get up at all. Poor beasties!
