Wy's school hosted the families of students for a night of ice skating last month. We didn't know how well the boys would do or if they'd even like it but we thought it would be a fun family outing with some hilarious moments thrown in so we bundled up the boys and began our ice skating adventure. What we didn't count on was how much Wy and Conner would LOVE skating. Wy only used the little push cart thingy for a few times and then he ventured out on his own, albeit a bit wobbly, but on his own. Conner stuck to the pushy thing and his dad all night but he did not want to leave when the night was over. In fact as we were walking out to the truck he asked when we could go skating again.
The next day I found this in my kitchen: The boys had turned our floors into their "ice rink" and were running down the hall so they could "skate" through the kitchen. Even Lane was in on it and having a great time. Only once did we have a 3 boy pile up but there was no blood, bruises, or broken bones only laughter.
Conner wore his cowboy boots nonstop for two days after and used those to "skate" through the house. Just can't believe how taken they are with skating. Looks like next year our boys will be playing hockey (secretly I'm overjoyed. I love hockey!)
