Road Trip!

Easter Weekend found us on the road to Blanding for some fun in the sun (well one day of sun and the rest of snow/wind/rain but fun we had!). We had a beautiful day for driving and made our way through several different temperatures (28 * on top of Indian Canyon, 66* in Moab). We decided to break the trip up to make it easier for the boys and much easier on the pregnant lady and in the process got to meet some really nice people at the rest area right before Crescent Junction; had a chance to check out the Lamborghini at the Maverick in Moab and saw some pretty tricked out jeeps that had congregated in Moab for the big jeep weekend.

Saturday we attended the big Easter Egg hunt at the visitor's center/park in Blanding. Wyatt was so excited to get there and on the way he kept telling us he only wanted 4 eggs because that's how old he was. We thought that pretty funny until he showed us his basket: 4 eggs (really six but he kept saying only 4 because he's 4). Conner was a bit slower and found only two but he was just as excited and he managed to eat all the candy out of both eggs before we even got back to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Little turkey!

After the hunt we packed up a delicious picnic lunch of fried chicken, potato salad, bread, chips and strawberry shortcake and headed out to Brad's uncle's place where they were branding calves. We arrived to late to help brand but Wy did get to help push the cows out of the corral using a very big stick. He was elated and dirty right from the get go - cow manure and all - and had a great time. We spent the day with Brad's grandparents, uncle, aunt and cousins enjoying the day and relaxing. Wy even went skinny dipping (well he wouldn't take his shirt off) and Conner tried to drive the 4-wheeler any chance he got. He had to be content to ride his own "4-wheeler" while dad and Grandpa took a break.
