Easter - Continued

Our Easter weekend continued with coloring eggs at Grandma Patterson's house. Wy was so excited and Conner eventually got into it after he learned not to drop the eggs. We did have a few cracked ones but for the most part they turned out great.

Sunday morning the boys awoke to hidden eggs all over Grandma's pretty room (pretty brave bunny!) and they were so excited to find the eggs they totally overlooked the buckets full of candy, kites, cars and stuffed animals. Grandpa finally pointed them out and then the excitement level really took off. The Easter Bunny even found time to bring mom something this year (he must have had a wee bit of help). Brad was content with the giant chocolate bunny and Cadburry Eggs in his basket. All in all a good morning.

After all the fun we got ready for church and had a wonderful Easter program to listen too. The songs about Christ and the Atonement were so touching and they even sang one of my favorite songs (of course no one had a Kleenex). Wyatt went to Primary and on the way home from church he told us he knew why we celebrate Easter. I steeled myself expecting to hear something about eggs and bunnies but my sweet little guy related the Easter story to us in the car and what a testimony to the power of the spirit and good primary teachers that a four year old would talk about the tomb and the resurrection and Christ's love instead of eggs and candy and bunny rabbits. A beautiful reminder to me of why we celebrate Easter.
