Conner 10 & 11 months

My baby who really isn't a baby any longer turns 1 the end of this week and so I will quickly wrap his 10 and 11 months together in this one post. He has been a very busy boy and has learned quite a few things in these two months. The biggest thing is he has learned is to antagonize his older brother and he is perfecting his technique every day. His next biggest accomplishment was starting to crawl the first part of June. We had been waiting impatiently for this mile stone and the day after I was wishing that he was a bit less active. Now we are watching him stand next to the couch and looking forward to the day when he begins to toddle off around the house and can chase Toby around the yard instead of Toby jumping all over him and can follow Wy into whatever mischievous adventures the two of them can create. He also was superbaby and got four new teeth all at the same time (hmm note to self: cranky baby=teething baby=tylenol and teething tablets! ) This week he will get his first haircut and it will turn him from a baby to a little boy and while it will be nice to see his pretty eyes I will miss the baby that I held in my arms for the first time a year ago.

This was Conner's first time eating by himself. I put him in his highchair, put the macaroni and cheese on the tray and let the little guy go to town. He was so dang excited with the macaroni in one hand and his little spoon in the other. His toothy grin says it all!
He is such an animated little guy. One day he and Wy were playing in the living room and all of a sudden Conner rolled onto his back, threw his feet in the air and started rocking back and forth. Then he'd roll over, find his book, roll back over and "read" with his feet in the air. I love it when he is just relaxing because where ever he is he's got his feet crossed. That's when I know that he's content.
This is on a Sunday right before we headed to church. I got him ready and he was so tired I put him in his crib for a brief nap. I walked into his room to get diapers for the diaper bad and found him sound asleep with his feet hanging out of his crib, head cradled on top of his arms.

Memorial Day we spent at the park for a few hours before Brad left for work in Rock Springs. Conner has a fascination with throwing things and he especially loves his soccer ball and basketball. We are pretty sure that he will be our baller because he has quite the arm on him and quite an aim for such a tiny little guy. He is sitting on the blanket with me playing with Wy's mitt and baseball while Brad and Wy play with our new puppy Toby.

I am so blessed to be a mother to two adorable little boys and am thankful that the Lord trusts me enough to raise them, to teach them and to love them. This year has gone so fast and while I love the little boy that Conner has become I miss the tiny baby he was. The one thing that hasn't changed from day one is the way he loves on me. He puts his little arms up and around my neck and cuddles under my chin and just hugs so tight and then gives me a warm slobbery kiss right on the cheek. Even now it brings tears to my eyes to know that he loves me like that and he's not even 1 yet. Being a mother totally rocks!

I don't know why you are wishing for him to be more mobile. Don't you know that mobile children = trouble? I love that he has mac & cheese on his forhead. Too cute! I can't believe he is a year old now!
