When Wyatt was born one of my good friends made the most adorable quilt for him. It is a block quilt and each block has a pair of shoes - for those who don't know me that well I have a serious shoe fetish, which it seems I have passed on to my child - so it was a perfect gift. I admit I thought it too cute to actually use when he was a baby as I didn't want baby puke stains on it. But I had a change of heart the other day when I realized that it was made to be used and loved by Wyatt and so while he was bathing one morning I changed his bedding and put that quilt on his bed. I got him out of the tub and we walked into his room and he immediately ran to his bed and said "I like it, my blanket" and just kept repeating that over and over. I learned that gifts like that are meant to be used as they will be treasured much more than if they are just looked at from a far. Thanks Nancy for such a wonderful quilt - we love it!
