"Souper Bowl" Sunday

Super Bowl weekend we made a quick trip to Geneva to visit and get our taxes done. We arrived in time to participate in "Souper Bowl" Sunday with my brother James and his family, my sister Mauria, and my parents. Lindsay, my soon to be 10 year old niece, had written in her Aunt Ria's work calendar that Sunday, February 1 was "Souper Bowl" Sunday and thus the theme for the party was set. My mom made the most delicious soup loved by all (except her pregnant daughter who accidently said that it smelled like vomit - good thing my mom LOVES me) and homemade bread to accompany it. The adults watched the game, for the most part, while the kids, Whitney, Rily and Wyatt ran from one end of the house to the other, played with dominoes, and ate most of the candy set out in the kitchen. I've said this before but I truly love being close to our families and having the opportunity to jet out for a weekend and not spend 12 hours in the car driving.
