Happy, Happy Birthday Wyatt!

Wyatt at 4 yrs old:
Last summer we took Wyatt to Kuna, Idaho, to show him where he lived for the first year and a half of his life. He really loved the stories we told him about our time in that house and playing in the backyard with our dog Sara. Lately he has enjoyed us telling him about the day we had him. One day he told me his own story and it began as such: Mom you were born and then a baby; you grew up and met dad and got married; then you had me, a baby, then Conner, my brother, and now we are having a sister (no, we don't know yet but he is insistent that it is a girl). I thought that was so cute that he went all the way back to my childhood to tell his story. He loves looking at pictures and asking what's going on in each photo. He plays so well with Conner, although there are times when we do have to referee. He loves school and has learned so much this year. His vocabulary constantly amazes me and Brad blames his use of big words on me; guilty as charged but I can't help it. I use a word and then explain it to him and before I know it he's using it too, usually aimed at me! The latest additions: frustrated, distracting. One day he walked up to me and said: Mom I'm just so frustrated with you. Yes, I admit I say that to him quite a bit; guess it has rubbed off but at least it beats the other words that Brad claims I have taught him. He has an obsession with transformers, Toy Story, horses, and monster trucks. Ever since Brad took him to the Monster Truck Rally he has really given these trucks his attention. He loves playing and has such an imagination. I found all my grocery sacks spread out all over our computer room and discovered that Wy had gone through the stack until he found the largest bag and then put his toys (teddy, dog, horse, Pedro, Clifford, an old piggy bank, Lightning McQuen and a few others) inside the bag and was playing Toy Story. Although we have no Toy Story toys he has created Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Bulls Eye and many of the other characters with the toys he does have. I love that he can create and turn his imagination into his little reality. I could spend hours just watching and most importantly listening to him play.
He's obsessed with growing up and getting big like his dad. Every once in a while he'll wake up from his nap or in the morning and tell me his feet grew while he was sleeping or that his hands are getting as big as his dads. I'm glad that he wants to be big but I hope it doesn't happen too soon; I love having him climb up on my lap and just want to be rocked for a little bit and all too soon that will be gone.
Happy 4th year Wyatt Cody, we love you and wish you a year full of learning and adventure. Mostly though we wish you happiness!
