Lazy Days of School

This month Wyatt started preschool. He is in a class with five other kids and goes twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He has been anxiously awaiting the day that he too could attend school and so I thought the first day he would jump out of bed and be too excited to eat. However I went in to wake him up and he told me " I just need two more minutes, it's too early" even after I told him it was his day to go to school. Once he crawled out of bed though the excitement kicked in and he kept going over all the things he would learn at his new school. When we put his backpack on he headed for the door to catch the bus and once again I had to explain that he wouldn't ride the bus until Kindergarten. His reply? That's okay mom, you can drive me for now. But when I go to Kindergarten you drive me in the morning and I'll ride the bus home, okay? He has learned so much in just the two weeks we've been going and I'm grateful for the wonderful ladies who are helping my child learn.

Now for the true mommy moment (I haven't even told Brad this!): on the way to school that morning I was thinking WOW! I can't believe my little boy is in preschool which opened the floodgate of memories and I saw my tiny baby who has grown up too quickly (see photo below). Then I started thinking that in such a short time he'll be in Kindergarten and SHAZAM! the tears began and I sniffed all the way to the school. (I'll be honest, I'm teary now just writing about it!) My baby Wyatt 4 days old the day we came home from the hospital.
