A bit about our family

We recently moved to Utah from Idaho where we had lived for four years. We miss our home there but are growing accustome to our new home and the beautiful surroundings. It is so nice to go to the mountains and only have a ten to fifteen minute drive instead of driving for about an hour before even reaching the mountains. We love being outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, riding horses, swimming - anything that gets us out of the house. We are also closer to family and have been able to visit more often thanks to the close proximity.
My husband Brad currently works for Schlumberger in the oil field. He enjoys his job and is currently camping out on the job in the cold weather (so glad it's him and not me). Before moving here he owned and operated BP Fencing so it has been a change from the fencing business to operating the equipment out in the field but he is used to hard work and long hours so nothing really has changed. He was born in Utah, moved to Oregon where he did most of his growing up and then moved to Idaho. It seems he's come full circle in this move back to Utah.
I am now a full time stay at home mom. That has been a complete adjustment but a good one. I taught high school for ten years so dealing with a two year old is a huge difference from dealing with teenagers. However I am finding things to keep me busy (oh who am I kidding? Just being at home keeps a person busy) and am catching up on my reading list that I seem to have put off for a few years. I was born and raised in Idaho and have lived there all my life. This move to Utah has been quite the adventure for me as I feel like a fish out of water but I'm slowly adjusting and finding that living in a small town isn't as bad as I thought it might be.
Wyatt just turned 2 this month. I know this is very cliche but it seems like it was just a minute ago that he was born and this tiny little guy brought such joy to our life; now he's going on 15 with the attitude to match. His new favorite word is "hush" and he only seems to say it to me when I'm asking him to clean up his toys or play nice. Hmmm, do we forsee an issue here? Only time will tell. His favorite movie is Mama Mia for reasons we just don't understand although I think it has something to do with the singing and dancing. He loves to dance and usually makes up his own songs as he dances around the living room and through the kitchen. His recent request as I was doing dishes was "dance mom, dance". I kept telling him no then thought you know it won't be long until he asks me to stop doing things with him so I should take every opportunity. So we spent an hour dancing to songs on the radio - no easy task for a woman who is very out of shape -and had a lot of fun.
Our latest addition will join us in July, hopefully in the middle rather than the end as has been predicted. We are hoping for a girl but will love and cherish a boy as well.
